In the late 1970’s, Kate was approached by the founder of East 15 Acting School and asked to return to teach the skills she had been so successfully implementing in her career. So began a very long and successful second-string working life.

Since then, throughout her acting career, Kate has continued to teach young actors at drama schools in the UK. Her longest associations were with East 15 Acting School & Italia Conti Academy (BA Hons Acting) where she has returned under successive Programme Directors. She has also taught at ALRA, Mountview Theatre School, Rose Bruford College, Arts Educational Schools and The Actors’ Centre. Many hundreds of student actors have benefited from Kate’s clear, accessible way of working.

Now, Kate offers coaching sessions to adult actors of all ages and levels of experience. Several well-respected talent agencies refer their clients. Please click here to read testimonials of Kate’s teaching work.

“Acting is much more than “learn the lines and don't bump into the furniture”. It is about lifting the character from the page and recreating recognisable human behaviour. When human beings move through the world they are motivated by their wants in relation to their circumstances and the other human beings around them. This determines their actions, verbally and physically. An actor needs to recognise these actions in the character, be able to analyse the wants that provoke the actions and determine the strategy used to achieve those wants.”
